We built the 4040XP from the inside out, combining tougher, bolder construction with proven LCN technology. The result is a closer that’s stronger and smarter and delivers remarkable value in various applications. The 4040XP Tandem variant uses two mechanisms and is a Relcross Door Controls® custom solution.
The correct choice of door control involves many factors, not least the ‘sail area’ - i.e. a combination of the door’s height x width. In general terms, all Relcross heavy-duty overhead door closers can control conventional doors up to 102 kilos in weight, although all doors must be free swinging, with the correct choice of hinges and pivots being a critical prerequisite. Where doors exceed the 102-kilo limit, a proven custom (Relcross) solution exists. Developed over many years, the 4040XP.TANDEM Overhead Door Closer comprises two heavy-duty cylinders - linked to produce considerable power without any loss of control - to suit doors to 272 kilos. For extra heavy doors over 272 kilos, an additional cylinder can be introduced - consult the sales office for further information.
